Three members of the Innvision team attended HD Expo last week and brought home with them a clearer picture of where hospitality interiors, materials, and FF&E are heading next. The value of the show was part design inspiration and part insight to apply to real hotel new builds, renovations, and brand conversions. Through its breadth of exhibiting manufacturers that touch every aspect of a property, HD Expo does a great job of emphasizing the notion that every space within a hotel can generate revenue, appeal to guests, and create an ROI.

HD Expo Las Vegas 2026 Recap

Three members of the Innvision team attended HD Expo last week and brought home with them a clearer picture of where hospitality interiors, materials, and FF&E are heading next. The value of the show was part design inspiration and part insight to apply to real hotel new builds, renovations, and brand conversions. Through its breadth of exhibiting manufacturers that touch every aspect of a property, HD Expo does a great job of emphasizing the notion that every space within a hotel can generate revenue, appeal to guests, and create an ROI.

Overall Vibe

Over the years, HD Expo has stayed relevant to its loyal attendee base of designers, higher-end manufacturers, and hotel owners. The bright colors and a focus on outdoor living this year were note worthy. Importing manufacturers seemed busier than their domestic counterparts, answering questions about the impacts of changes this year in tariffs and shipping costs due rising energy prices.

Compelling New Products

Out of the vast number of products we saw, we’ll keep it simple by calling out two in particular. Sisyphus Industries showed a mesmerizing and beautiful magnetic-driven Kinetic Sand Art Table that you could easily sit and watch for long stretches.

Meanwhile, Durkan, a division of Mohawk Group, grabbed our attention in a big way with Hero Rubber, a flooring product with a compelling sustainability story that they are introducing into the hospitality market. Hero Rubber is an eco-friendly flooring product made from Nike Grind materials - specifically post-consumer recycled athletic shoes. Nike Grind transforms end-of-life footwear and manufacturing scrap into a durable, high-performance flooring component. It offers a unique visual, contains no rubber tires or rubber tire odor, and is Red List Free and FloorScore certified.

Aesthetic Trends and Design Themes

Colors never disappoint at HD, but we noticed more textures this year not only in flooring from Durkan, Glosser, Shaw, and others, but also in casegoods, such as those from Kimball and Bryan Ashley. Durkan also showcased its Axminster technology and capabilities to inject metallic yarns for added design flair. Durkan was also notable for having manufacturing partners that produce beautiful hand-woven rugs.

Wherever it can, hotel design seems to be shifting away from one-size-fits-all environments toward spaces with a stronger sense of identity through personality, storytelling, and local resonance. The rise in lifestyle brands and properties underscores this point. In addition, wellness and biophilic influence remain important, but they are showing up in more refined ways, such as tactile materials and spaces designed to support how guests want to feel. Finally, products and layouts are increasingly flexible to create multi-use spaces that can shift between work, socializing, dining, and relaxation.

Project-Applicable Takeaways

This year’s HD Expo was proof that the FF&E market isalive and well with plenty of products for the high number of renovations, conversions, and overall PIPs that Lodging Econometrics reminds us need tohappen.

At the same time, designer shows such as HD can be daunting to a hotel owner, since walking the floor and trying to take in a sea of vendors and their offerings is an overwhelming task. This is why trusted advisors such as ID Studio and Innvision play a critical role in any hotel project. Thoughtful and informed interior design and procurement ensure that hotel owners gain the most leverage and ROI from the aesthetics and performance of today’s FF&E product. The end results are a hotel that feels fresh, distinctive, and purposeful and a project that runs more smoothly.

At Innvision, we always value the opportunity to step away from active projects and spend time where ideas, products, and industry conversations are all happening at once. HD Expo 2026 gave us plenty to think about, but more importantly, it gave us practical insight we can bring back to our clients. Contact us to begin a conversation about planning your new build, renovation, or brand conversion in the months ahead.
