The COVID-19 pandemic has led to the need to increase proper cleaning and sanitation in hotel guest rooms and public spaces. Since guests and hotel workers will only feel safe if a property is clean, hotel owners, operators, and brands are doing more than ever to ensure the health and well-being of guests and employees.
Most of the precautions and standards put in place as a result of the pandemic already existed for hoteliers around the world. Cleaning regulations placed on hospitality require cleaning staff to use specific chemicals on certain surfaces. The FF&E provided from manufacturers also comes with instructions describing the best way to clean an item without stripping any protective coatings, coloration, or finishes. These two requirements can sometimes clash. Hoteliers are following the regulations to create the safest possible sanitation for their guests and staff.
